Which is why we foster a culture of inclusion and belonging where all perspectives, abilities and experiences are valued and our people can reach their potential.At Johnson & Johnson, we all belong.This individual contributor role is responsible for managing worldwide distribution activities of clinical supplies within J&J Pharma R&D (biotherapeutics, vaccines and small molecules; for all phases of clinical trials) as part of the Clinical Supply Chain organization with a high degree of autonomy.Key Responsibilities:Manage the overall relationship and maintain oversight of operational performance of Logistics providers and collaborate with QA and Procurement organizations to resolve issues. Conduct monthly/quarterly business reviews with vendor and identify continuous improvements. Compile data and analyze trending through utilization of key performance indicators and quality metrics.Serve as point of contact for logistics service providers and in partnership with Quality to ensure quality investigations, and corrective/preventive actions are implemented in a timely manner by the service provider.Drive the organization's distribution network strategy, identify & lead the implementation of new capabilities and solutions and manage the network costing model.Prepare business plan budget forecasts and effectively manage budget for logistics services/consumables with limited guidance.Lead and manage analysis of potential new logistics service providers in collaboration with business partners (e.g., Procurement, QA) to identify new capabilities and solutions, ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective distribution providers are available to end users.Provide subject matter expertise to other Logistics team members, Clinical Supply Integrator and Trial Supply Management to ensure the optimal logistics network is used during trial conduct.Identify and manage the development and implementation of solutions between IVR and Logistics provider network to ensure that order integrity is maintained and manual intervention is minimized in the order fulfilment process.Use resources to continuously analyze and recommend the optimal materials for cold-chain and other critical condition shipping materials.Manage the system/process to coordinate global inventory management of these supplies.Apply industry knowledge and collaboration to provide the business with up-to-date and effective solutions for cold-chain, frozen, and narcotics logistics.Collaborate with the Deliver organization to apply existing compliance and security resources to the Clinical Supply Chain logistics network.Develop excellent working relationships across Logistics (TM&C, Logistics Integration, Trade Compliance, API, DP, P&L), within Clinical Supply Chain (i.e. CSI, T&SM, API, DP/P&L) and outside of CSC (i.e. QA, Procurement, Vendors, GCO, Deliver).Support and provide logistics leadership in GxP audits and health authority inspections.Support the Quality organization with auditing logistics service providers.Lead the operational/business on-boarding of the new service provider.Identify & lead other pivotal initiatives as requested.QualificationsEducation:A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree is preferred.APICS certification is a plus. Experience and Skills:Required: Proven track record of change management experience is required.Demonstrated ability to collaborate internally and externally to develop relationships partnerships with key partners and service providers to identify and deliver logistics and distribution solutions is required.Ability to work in a cross-functional and cross-cultural environment is required.Effective communication, strong collaboration, operational and data analysis skills are required.Intermediate to advanced software skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint) are required.Preferred:Understanding of clinical study needs and clinical operations is preferred.Knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution, transportation, and logistics is preferred.Knowledge of IVRS functionality, or EDI-based shipment order processing preferred. Business applications experience, such as SAP Ariba, QEM TrackWise, and/or Interactive Response Technology (i.e. IVRS) platforms are preferred.Understanding of ambient, cold and/or frozen distribution requirements for clinical supplies is preferred.General knowledge of GxP principles is preferred.The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000 to $195,500.The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year.
