Come join us in accelerating the energy transition to cleaner, more sustainable sources of power! Basic Function We are seeking a Manager to join our Strategy and Investments team. This individual would support investments into and acquisitions of renewable projects, portfolios, and platforms as well as supporting the greenfield development and power marketing of projects already owned by the company. Specific tasks include valuation analyses to evaluate transaction opportunities during the bidding process, granular model refinement based on transaction diligence, support for cross-functional diligence, and collaboration with SBE's capital markets team to support any related debt financing for strategic transactions. The role would also include evaluating greenfield development opportunities, whether generated by SBE, as part of joint ventures with third parties, or as part of determining value of an overall pipeline. Additional tasks outside investments may include company-wide strategic development and research and analysis on new geographic markets and product lines. Responsibilities
- Manage investment processes for renewable project and portfolio targets.
- Lead analytics for greenfield development projects, in both site origination and power marketing.
- Lead valuation analyses for target renewable projects.
- Collaborate on due diligence with subject matter experts to validate model assumptions and understand key project risks.
- Lead in coordination of diligence process, including management/oversight of Q&A logs and document disclosures.
- Assist in development and review of transaction documents to ensure commercial alignment.
- Assist in structuring transactions to maximize investment returns.
- Support company-wide strategic development.
- Perform research and analysis on new geographic markets.
- Draft presentation materials for above strategy and investment efforts.
- Lead / collaborate with team members on financial modeling.
Qualifications/Requirements
- BA/BS, preferably in quantitative field.
- 7+ years of experience in finance, consulting, and / or business development, with exposure to energy/renewables.
- Extensive experience with financial modeling and valuation analysis.
- Some experience with acquisition, investment or financing transactions in the renewables industry.
- Ability to perform research and analysis and draw conclusions on a short timeframe.
- Knowledge of US wholesale power markets.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with emerging energy trends.
- Knowledge of renewable and energy storage technologies, including recent developments.
- Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong sense of ownership over individual contributions and team success.
Location: San Francisco / Bay Area, CA preferred. We have a hybrid office set up. The position requires up to 25% domestic travel. Base Pay - $130,000 - 145,000 Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, certifications, specific work location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Base pay may vary per location due to differences in the cost of living. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual discretionary bonus, full Health & Wellness Benefits package, and other applicable incentive perks as outlined in any formal offer made. The final compensation package will be discussed with the candidate during the final stages of the hiring process.
