The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of production areas within the plant. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical skills to ensure that production targets are met while maintaining safety, environmental, and PSM requirements. The Manufacturing Manager will manage a team of Supervisors, Engineers, Team Leaders, and Operators. As a member of the plant leadership team, the Manufacturing Manager will work closely with other functional areas of the plant to ensure that all aspects of production are coordinated and optimized. The core of this role is to develop an operations centric culture focused on improved asset reliability, plant up time, a long-term asset vision, and short/long term capital project plans that ensures assets operate at their design parameters and are updated/replaced in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Manage all risks to production, including safety, quality, cost, and reliability.
* Work with commercial team to develop and execute on weekly, monthly, and annual production plans.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental policies and procedures. Including all relevant safety and environmental regulations, including PSM and RPM.
* Maintain a strong focus on employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning.
* Implement and maintain continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production processes and reduce waste.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other functional areas of the plant, including maintenance, engineering, and the commercial teams.
* Manage a team of production supervisors, team leaders, and operators, providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to support their professional development and ensure high performance.
* Plan and allocate resources to achieve production targets, including labor, equipment, and materials.
* Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as production rates, energy yield, and downtime, and take appropriate actions to address any issues.
* Lead efforts to implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime and reduce maintenance costs.
* Lead and support initiatives to improve manufacturing performance and stakeholder satisfaction, including incident investigation, root cause analysis and corrective action.
* Develop and manage the area's operating budget, including labor and material costs, and ensure that spending is aligned with business goals.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering with at least 10 years in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience in a PSM-regulated Industrial fertilizer, petrochemical, or power generation facility is a plus.
* With strong operations leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
* Proven ability to implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives.
* Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures.
* Demonstrated experience in managing a budget and controlling costs.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.
