The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will oversee the Manufacturing Engineering Department within our Florence, KY plant for the Couplings Division. This role will have leadership responsibility for the manufacturing engineering team, managing the team and ensuring engineering projects are completed within budgetary and scheduling guidelines.
Responsibilities- Reviews and evaluates department processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
- May include responsibility for Process Engineering, Project Engineering, Continuous Improvement, and/or Maintenance.
- Evaluates, and makes final determination on, with input from plant manager, the process recommendations of engineers to ensure they are accurate and consistent with the organization's short-term production plans.
- Leads the most complex, large, or difficult process engineering projects and develops innovative approaches to production problems.
- Estimates the cost, time and resources required for repair projects; prepares work orders and monitors the progress of work against estimates.
- Monitors industry trends and developments in engineering technology and makes recommendations on equipment/systems investments.
- Leads and directs manufacturing engineering department.
- Responsible for setting and achieving department goals and objectives.
- Leads and is responsible for Zero harm.
- Provide hiring, development, and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports. Reviews and evaluates department processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience required, including previous experience leading and developing teams.
- Lean Manufacturing background in an Engineer to Order (ETO) business.
- Proven experience in metal cutting processes; CNC and manual process strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with or ability to learn assembly processes.
- Possess a transformational attitude to drive for results.
- Proven track record in problem-solving and decision-making with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
