Manager, Meetings & Conferences (Full Time)
Position Summary: NCURA is a Higher Education Association is looking for detail oriented and flexible individual to join our meetings team! In this role, the Meetings Manager will manage all logistics from start to finish for our Traveling Workshops which take place throughout the US. This position requires extensive, top notch customer service and excellent communication, with members and fellow staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include the following, but are not limited to)
· Hotel past experience recommended
· Travel 10 – 12 times per year required (weekend travel included)
· Lead, coordinate and execute details for multiple meetings and conferences, including but not limited to facilities, registration, accommodations, travel arrangements, catering, and audio-visual needs.
· Staff lead for Campus programs: Responding to requests from institutions timely, contracting and handling all logistics, as well as a high level of customer service supporting our faculty volunteers.
Source venues and vendors, create accurate and detailed RFPs, evaluate proposals, make recommendations to Director on venues that will accommodate specific program needs, and negotiate contracts for assigned meetings.
· Provides top notch customer service to our member volunteer presenters at Workshops and National Conferences.
· Manages and Leads the registration process of all conferences and workshops.
· Responsible for staying in communication regarding all marketing needs for conferences and workshops.
Qualifications
· Hospitality Experience Required (meeting planning, hotel, convention center, event planning)
· Customer Service Experience Required
· One year in an association experience is recommended
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
· Bachelor's Degree (B.S. /B.A.) from four-year college required
· Proficiency with Microsoft office required (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat) and have general computer skills for updating pages of the website; will include blasts to membership to market meetings.
· Helpful, Friendly and Professional Demeanor Required
· Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced, small office team environment, and the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
ANNUAL SALARY: $60,000 per year
HYBRID POSITION: This position includes a mix of onsite and telework.
JOB TYPE: Full-time
NOTES: 100% medical and dental coverage for staff; 50% medical and dental coverage for family; 10% Employer contribution to your 403 B based on salary; two weeks' vacation in years one and two, additional week off between Christmas and New Years and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. We are located in the Farragut North neighborhood of NW DC easily accessible by Metro.
