Description OPEN UNTIL FILLEDJOB SUMMARY:The Manager Mental Health Group Home implements and oversees individualized social and living skills within the mental health program. Provides direct care including supportive living counseling and skill training for individuals who have serious and persistent mental illness and live in a supervised residential facility on a 24/7 basis. Work is performed under general supervision and is guided by well-established and specific Agency policies and procedures, quality assurance, public and private payor guidelines, professional practices, ethical standards related to client interactions, and state and federal licensure and accreditation regulations and guidelines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Complete administrative duties to include but not limited to: leading the day-to-day operations of the home, including coordination of services, home meetings; evaluate the status of individuals and facilitate appropriate planning and coordination of treatment activities to ensure immediate attention to changing needs; assist program employees and administration to create and maintain a therapeutic milieu; attend administrative meetings relevant to the home program and its identified goals; provide monthly supervision to direct supervisees and participate in monthly supervision with supervisor; and develop and maintain program policies and procedures that continue to adequately describe the intended function of the home, meet its intended goals, and ensure a framework of practice that can be implemented and clearly followed by employees.
  • Assist to facilitate referral/admission process to home to ensure maximum utilization of beds possible in accordance with the expectations of the Agency and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).
  • Work in coordination with treatment team as well as other staff and program supports to ensure that individuals' identified treatment needs are adequately addressed.
  • Provide supportive interventions to individuals, as well as training and support as needed to employees and assist in monitoring Individual Service Plans (ISPs); implement specified services; prepare quarterly updates to the ISPs.
  • Assist in the upkeep of the house, grounds, and vehicles while ensuring that all inspections are completed as necessary including but not limited to: Fire drills, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, etc. and maintain appropriate records.
  • Assist residents with personal financial transactions and recordkeeping.
  • Coordinate social and recreational programs and activities.
  • OTHER DUTIES:
    • Perform such other duties as assigned by supervisor.
    QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Good oral and written communication skills.
    • Knowledge of mental health, substance abuse, and Intellectual Disability (ID) symptomatology.
    • Knowledge of treatment modalities and case management approaches, such as service coordination, behavior management, independent living skills training, supportive counseling, family education, and discharge planning.
    • Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies and procedures.
    • Ability to implement and lead individual and group training sessions, focusing on increasing recovery and self-determination.
    • Knowledge of mental health, ID, and substance abuse confidentiality guidelines.
    • Upon hire, the employee will need to complete CPR/First Aid Training, Medication Administration training, and Safety Care.
    Minimum Requirements EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:RN/LPN or Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field preferredorExperience/education in mental health treatment. Knowledge of mental illness/substance abuse symptomology and experience working with individuals with mental health, substance abuse disabilities and developmental disabilities.Additionally prefer to meet the Board of Health Professions registration requirements for QMHP (A or A-Trainee).Must have three years' experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental health needs.Driver's license with a safe driving record required.
