About the position:

Were looking for an Engineering Manager to lead and support our Advanced Research Engineering team. We are seeking a leader with the right balance of creativity, initiative, and drive to move solutions quickly from concept to realization. In this role, you will:

* Provide leadership in the areas of automation, energy storage (including LIB and fuel cells), new technologies in telematics and IoT, and bridge the Research and Advanced Development teams.

* Manage and lead R&D and technical programs which result in new or improved product, increased output, and reduced costs. Help supply other teams within Raymond with new technologies related to material handling.

* Collaborate with Toyota Material Handlings world class technical staff to solve challenging problems.

* Support development of a sustainable research and development product pipeline in collaboration with the overall New Product Development plan.

* Leverage innovative conceptual ideas born from various parts of the business including Research, Development, Marketing, Operations, etc. Assist in implementing them into new products.

* Coordinate a multi-disciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, software, and systems technical resources.

* Guide and coach the team through adoption and transitional phases of platform development, design practice, risk analysis (technical and commercial), testing and validation, performance trade-off studies, cost studies, supplier selections, and engineering process development.

* Collaborate with outside partners to gain access to technology solutions for further development and commercialization.

* Recruit, develop, and retain a world class Advanced Research engineering organization.

* Foster and generate advanced intellectual property, positioning Raymond Corporation to continue our history of technical leadership in all aspects of material handling.

* Interface with Toyota Industries global members in working groups and other collaboration sessions.

* Apply knowledge and skills in support of emerging technologies like robotics and automation, energy storage, telematics, IoT.

* Manage research in new fields to identify and apply novel approaches to challenging problems.

* Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to understand the problem and viable solution space.

* Facilitate design reviews to solicit feedback on proposed solutions and iterate to incorporate feedback.

* Stay current on new technology releases in adjacent industries such as automotive, IoT, and automation.

About you:

* Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.

* 12+ years of engineering experience with 5+ years of technical management experience.

* A background in research and product development that has led to successful product introductions.

* History of managing projects with multiple dependencies.

* Knowledge of research, development, and design methodologies.

* Experience vetting multiple vendor options to develop solutions.

* Self-starter that is results-orientated with the ability to manage vision and purpose.

* Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, organization, and attention to detail skills.

* In-depth tactical and strategic leadership skills that drive continuous improvement.

* Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

It would be great if you had:

* Masters of Science or PhD in Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering or Computer Science.

* Experience with automation systems, AGVs, advanced systems integration, telematics, and/or energy storage design, development and manufacturing.

About the total compensation package:

Salary - $160,000 - $200,000 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidates education and experience.

Bonus Program This position is eligible for the Manager Bonus Program.

Relocation This position may qualify for relocation.
