Job OverviewAs the Director of Engineering, you will play a key leadership role in shaping andexecuting the engineering strategy. You will be responsible for overseeing and driving thesuccess of our engineering teams. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record ofleadership in a professional services environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality and innovative solutions.ResponsibilitiesThis person will ensure effective delivery of services to meet or exceed businessexpectations for the Service Management team, while achieving appropriate balancebetween quality of outcomes, risks, and the life cycle cost of such servicesMonitors service execution to ensure that services are delivered within agreed uponservice levels and that both users and business partners are satisfiedProactively monitors and measures service performance and metricsServes as an initial point of escalation for significant incidents that interrupt serviceavailability or diminish performanceRemove blockers or bottlenecks on the projects.Ensure that there is proper documentation for the work being completedEnsure that there is reporting in place for operational work where the work is inproduction (e.g., includes dashboards, SOPs, SLA/SLO/SLIs, metrics agreed upon by theclient, run books)Ensure that the budget meets the needs and meets the SOW deliverablesIdentify roadmap items to extend consulting opportunities with customerProvide monthly and quarterly reviews on progress towards agreed upon goalsIdentify operational opportunities for sales opportunities (e.g., managed services)Qualifications10+ years of experience with IT service delivery management, including direct oversightof IT services. Candidate must be out of IT Services and Delivery.Schedule and attend regular update calls with the client to assess and evaluate theexpectations against the deliverables.Take attendance of all employees by the project (starts early in the AM), will report allmissing employees to HR for updates in ADP. Review weekly timecards, and statusreports.Assess all the assigned tasks in Jira or Excel by an employee by a project on eachinternal/standup meeting.Setting up and performing biweekly customer stakeholder meetings for performancereviews.Conduct 1:1 calls with each member of the team every week for at least 15 mins,performance assessments.Review the code being presented to the client to determine whether the productdelivered is good, great, or below expectations.Set up and attend frequent 1:1s with key decision makers (KDMs) to build rapport, thiscould include face to face/in person meetings (travel).Building, executing, and closing SOW's with the sales team.Coach and mentor employees through the development process and develop personalimprovement plans.Interviewing candidates for internal and external (customer) roles.Social SkillsSelf-starter leader and individual who creates their tasks, backlog, and roadmap andcommunicates weekly with leadership on alignment, progress, risks, and opportunities.We need someone who is unafraid to successfully execute and not wait to be told whatto do.Communication and collaboration are critical to the ability to Build Trust.Curiosity to Learn from Others, Learn from the Internet, and SimulationResults Oriented Individuals who measure what they deliverA natural joy, passion, and pride for what they doLocationYou must be living and working out of the United States or Canada, with no exceptions.Any travel between working locations will need to be approved in advance.About Working Remote in this roleTravel will be required at least 4 times per year.
