Job Description:

As the Manager of Labor Relations, you will play a key role in partnering with the General Counsel and HR leadership to manage labor relations across the Union workforce. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements (CBAs), leading investigations and resolving grievances. Your strong organizational skills will help you manage multiple timelines and keep track of critical next steps in a fast-paced environment.

They are seeking an experienced Manager of Labor Relations to help shape and manage our relationship with 7 unions, ensuring a positive and productive work environment for all employees.

Description

  • Partner with General Counsel to manage relationships with 7 unions and ensure adherence to CBAs.
  • Lead and oversee the grievance resolution process, conducting thorough investigations and offering timely solutions.
  • Prepare for and participate in collective bargaining negotiations, ensuring effective communication between all stakeholders.
  • Track labor-related timelines, ensure compliance with labor regulations, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Work closely with union representatives to foster positive labor relations and resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership on employee relations strategies, advising on labor relations best practices.
  • Provide counsel to managers and employees on labor relations matters, offering guidance on CBA interpretation.
  • Stay current on labor laws, union activities, and emerging trends in labor relations.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in labor relations, preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements, grievance procedures, and labor law.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Experience conducting investigations and handling complex employee relations matters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive labor relations issues.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with legal teams and HR leadership.
  • Experience in a cultural institution or nonprofit environment is a plus.
