Zanda is an Executive search partner that works exclusively with high growth start-ups as they look to scale their business with senior talent. Zanda partners with VC's, Founder's, CEO's and CFO's when it comes to successfully hiring Senior Finance appointments.

Who's the business:

Zanda is partnering with a Venture Capital company that is seeking a candidate to help lead the Operations, Finance and Administration functions. Reporting to one of the Partners, this new team member will be entrusted with managing and coordinating much of the fund's operational and administration function in support of the investment team. To date this Venture Capital has invested in over 100 companies that span a broad range of industries, from consumer to software, healthcare, fintech and more. Their goal is to provide founders with high impact, strategic advice and give back to the founder community in a helpful and meaningful way.

What experience will you gain:

In this role, you will get exposure to different aspects of the VC business, including but not limited to fund financial monitoring, internal fund operations, communications management, external vendor relations, database management, and continuous process improvement. This role is multi-disciplinary and requires expertise in finance, accounting, reporting, legal, deal execution, follow on financings and HR.

The Manager of Operations & Finance will need to interact directly with the portfolio companies and will also play a role in portfolio management and development, as well as interact with Partners to help manage investor relations. This member will also be responsible for administrative support to the senior team members, working with the General Partners.

Required Skills & Background:

  • Bachelor's degree required (some courses in Accounting/Economics/Finance is an asset)
  • Exposure to senior level executives and Venture Capital is an asset
  • Education and Experience: 1-4 years overall of relevant experience
  • Basic finance and accounting knowledge / financial literacy
  • Ability to take initiative, improvise to solve problems and always think proactively
  • Extremely organized and excellent and prioritization
  • Proactive networking and relationship development skills
  • Ability to work in Excel, PowerPoint and create professional quality documents
  • Expertise in deciphering cap tables and legal deal closing documents to generate reports
