Manages the daily operations and provides leadership in Pastoral Care.
Works with external volunteers, pulpit supply clergy vendors, community clergy and religious communities.
Job Responsibilities
Manages day-to-day staff relations including organizing, performance management, staff satisfaction and conflict management. Performs and oversees scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
Ensures that Spiritual Care and Emotional Care needs of patients, their loved ones, and staff are met by spiritual care staff and by direct care of people, coordinating patient care services with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
Monitors departmental budgets, regulatory compliance, educational needs, departmental contracts and vendor relations.
Assists Vice President of Mission Services with developing specific goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
Assists Vice President of Mission Services with assessing the quality of patient care.
Ensures that Sacramental needs of Catholic patients are met and that regular chapel services are provided.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
Masters Level in Ministry or equivalent.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of spiritual care experience in a leadership role.
Licensure, Certification, Registration
Board Certified Chaplain with National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Language Skills
Language skills are a plus- particularly Spanish or other languages spoken locally.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
Ordination as Priest or Deacon is strongly preferred. Ability to oversee chapel functions and to back-up regular masses as well as to lead interfaith services.
