The Manager will join a growing and strategic fundraising team committed to elevating philanthropy for the organization and will be a key part of developing and executing a strategic, innovative, and collaborative advancement plan.This position is essential to our growth and sustainability. Under the guidance of the Vice President of Philanthropy, the Manager will have a passion for philanthropy and campaign coordination, focusing on the revenue objectives that are part of funding the work we do to build a safer community. Survivors are at the heart of HAWC, and we need a passionate and experienced development professional to help inspire past, current, and new donors to support the mission.Your Schedule:
  • Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Hybrid position with planned days in office.
  • Local Travel: Up to 25% to Houston-area meetings, media outlets, strategic partners, etc.
Our Total Compensation Package:
  • Annual Compensation: $80K
  • Pay schedule semi-monthly

  • Bachelor's degree OR seven years of directly related experience in lieu of education
  • A minimum of three years of experience of progressive fundraising, development, or advancement
  • A minimum of two years of experience working in mid to large-nonprofit agency strongly preferred.
  • Successful track record in writing grants for support of general operations.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
  • Basic proficiency in CRM database data entry, Raiser's Edge Preferred
  • Computer savvy able to learn new systems and applications quickly.
What you Deliver in this role:Fundraising
  • Work under the guidance of the Vice President of Philanthropy to manage a portfolio of 150 assigned donors in the $500-$4999 levels through pipeline prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship actions.
  • Support the Acting Chief of Advancement and Public Strategies, VP and Directors of Philanthropy with administrative needs related to fundraising, campaigns, donor research and engagement, and proposals.
  • Respond to all monetary and in-kind donation email inquiries and phone calls in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Research, manage and steward all corporate foundation and private grant opportunities for unrestricted funding.
Volunteer Engagement
  • Lead and grow engagement with the Houston Area Women's Center Young Leaders (HAWCYL) volunteer group.
  • Work closely with Philanthropy Directors and VP to manage data entry in volunteer and fundraising databases.
  • Serve as liaison with other departments regarding corporate and community volunteer issues, needs, and concerns.
  • Strategic Planning
  • Work closely with VP of Philanthropy to build out monthly and recurring gift programs.
  • Develop 1-3 year plan to expand HAWCYL group.
Collaboration
  • Manage logistics together with Development Operations team for annual Believe Luncheon.
  • Work with Advancement and Public Strategies team on special events and campaigns throughout the year with public speaking as needed.
  • Work with the Grant Development team to research, prepare and submit corporate and private unrestricted funding grants while maintaining the shared database.
  • Serves internal and external contacts in a timely, courteous manner, following up until needs are met.
  • Track all assigned donor notes, actions, relationships, communications, interests, demographics, motivations, and attributes in fundraising and volunteer databases in collaboration with Development Operations.
  • Utilize moves management to elevate returning donors to mid-level giving.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Department Administration
  • Ensure all development, fundraising, and volunteer data is tracked and managed.
  • Create a reliable system to manage HAWC fundraising and operations equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure all distribution lists are updated and managed.
  • Coordinate the planning of internal meetings and work sessions.
