Job Description:

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Manager of Safety on a Direct Hire basis. This position is based out of Berthoud, CO.

Summary

Oversee and enforce safety programs to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards, aiming to create a safe and secure work environment. Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement safety goals, training initiatives, and compliance strategies. Maintain safety records, conduct inspections, and lead accident investigations while staying current with industry regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce safety programs to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct hazard assessments, safety audits, and inspections, and provide written recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Lead safety training initiatives and participate in onboarding processes to promote safety awareness.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, document findings, and assist in corrective action implementation.
  • Facilitate and oversee required drug testing programs in compliance with industry standards.
  • Maintain communication with client safety representatives, acting as the primary safety liaison.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure adherence to safety procedures and resolve issues effectively.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of 4 safety coordinators to achieve program objectives.
  • Monitor industry safety practices and integrate improvements into company processes.
  • Works with risk management teams of insurance carriers and brokers to identify, assess and mitigate risks to the company.
  • Testify as needed in depositions or courts of law regarding safety practices and programs.

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of safety-related experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Good recent experience working in a supervisory or management related capacity.
  • Experience in facilitating a wide range of safety programs and developing corrective action plans.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive safety initiatives and influence awareness.
  • Proven ability to conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and DOT regulations, with expertise in pipeline fabrication and construction safety.
  • Proficiency in Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and ability to manage safety documentation effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field preferred.
  • Ability to travel about 25% of the time (company truck is provided).

Salary range: $110,000 - $140,000
