The Manager of Supply Chain & Logistics will also oversee programs and staff responsible for the increase in overall utilization of a private fleet including identification and coordination of constructive collaboration opportunities between the Tempur and Sealy brands. This position requires independent research and analytical skills, exceptional knowledge of logistics, and the ability to predict and measure profit and loss within a logistics environment. Strong business judgment, management, leadership, team building and decision-making skills also are required. This position requires collaboration with Transportation Supervisors, Regional Logistics Mangers, 3PL providers, Site Directors, Executive teams, and Distribution Centers to identify strategic freight lanes and excess equipment capacity. The Manager of Supply Chain & Logistics will also cultivate and monitor 3PL service and cost performance and provide oversight stewardship of the TSI customs and regulatory platforms.What You'll Do (Essential Duties and Responsibilities): Management of profitable third party and raw material backhaul programs across multiple Plants and Regions to reduce inbound and outbound delivery cost.People management of remote team of up to six individualsServe as the champion and conduit for fused delivery platforms (private and outsourced fleets) by promoting and nurturing relationships with teams, plants and DCs.Exercises discretion and independent judgment with diplomacy and safeguard safety and regulatory compliance programsAttains and strives to surpass yearly targets for backhaul profit - Raw Materials, Third Party and Tempur Direct to Customer, and Tempur-Sealy fused initiatives.Proactively researches, identifies, and communicates industry trends and provides predictive insight.Manages team roll out of initiatives and collaborates with cross-functional teams to secure and act upon those opportunities.Maintains open line of communication with Material Planners, Transportation Supervisors, Regional Logistics Managers, Vendors & Third-Party Brokers, while coordinating and directing head haul and backhaul.Negotiates freight rates with Third Party Brokers and enters into binding agreements on behalf of the Company.Manages a team that identifies and analyzes new cost-effective lane opportunities and other opportunities to increase profitability.
