Location: Herkimer, NY Category: Administrative Posted On: Thu Oct 31 2024 Job Description:Herkimer College seeks an energetic individual to serve as Manager of Training and Workforce Development. Reporting to the Dean of Academic Affairs, the Manager will identify, develop, implement and monitor programs and services required to meet the workforce development needs of the community.Responsibilities include the coordination of College and community resources in the creation and implementation of workforce and entrepreneurial development programs, upskill training, micro-credentials and apprenticeship programs. The Manager will also work closely with local businesses, government agencies and professional organizations to assess/identify regional needs and seek out funding opportunities in support of programming. Periodic travel is required.The ideal candidate will possess strong personal and organizational skills along with a passion for working with the community. The Manager will demonstrate a knowledge of the administration of credit and non-credit workforce programs, experience cultivating and sustaining community relationships, and the ability to develop and write funding proposals in support of workforce development initiatives. Knowledge and experience in the skilled- trades is a plus. This is a full-time, 12- month per year position.Job Requirements:A Bachelor's degree in Business, Adult Education or closely related field is required, Master's degree is preferred. Experience creating partnerships with government agencies, community organizations and outreach programs is preferred. Background in external funding management is a plus.Additional Information:The salary range for the position is $52,708 - $79,062, commensurate with qualifications, education and experience.
