Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits seeks a Manager, Off-Premise, Channel Marketing, [ yellow tail ]. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Off Premise Channel Marketing and will develop and implement off premise channel marketing initiatives for the assigned Brand. This position will ensure that Sales has everything they need to successfully execute the brand plans within the channel. This position provides the connectivity between Consumer Marketing and Sales through designing marketing strategies, activities, and programs through various platforms that reflect and enhance brand equity. Responsible for overall national direction on the brand assigned by leading communication, collaboration, development and coordination of all channel resources. This position is remote. Responsibilities are outlined below. These responsibilities are representative of the key areas of focus but are not limited to the items listed below.

Responsibilities:

  • Drives overall growth, profitability, and multi-year strategy of the brand in the off-premise channel, through leading the end-to-end business management and collaboration between Consumer Marketing and Sales.
  • Central point of contact between Sales and Consumer Marketing to align plans.
  • Leads the development of insight driven, breakthrough, national below-the-line marketing programs.
  • Consults with sub-channel marketers and sales partners with independent expertise to ensure program relevance.
  • Leads/oversees the customization of marketing programs.
  • Responsible for creating and owning trade standards and tools of the trade.
  • Leads the communication and selling decks for Marketing plans to Sales.
  • Initiates and manages the Sales Integrated Partnership process.
  • Invests time across the off-premise channel to understand a broad view of the market and sub-channels.
  • Partners with finance to understand and apply learnings from post program analysis including ROI.
  • Partners with sales teams to understand competitive programming and activity.
  • Partners with field and execution teams to ensure the plans, tools and measurements are in place to deliver category and brand growth.
  • Positions DFWS to be a D1 supplier by identifying unique marketing initiatives that enhance brand strategy and Customer profitability target.

Critical Skills/Qualifications:

  • Undergrad degree required; 10+ years of commercial sales/marketing experience in spirits/wine supplier industry or other CPG companies.
  • Stakeholder management experience with the ability to influence and develop strong partnerships across the business.
  • A thorough knowledge of distribution, promotion and selling techniques off premises, alongside strong analytical capabilities is strongly recommended.
  • Strong understanding and experience of marketing levers to drive growth of Indy Off Premise
  • Big thinker who develops program ideas that lead to breakthrough performance in the off premise.
  • Influencing and partnering with other departments to guide a unified approach.
  • Inspiring others to do their best work.
  • Strong brief writing and creative feedback skill set. Adept at evaluating BTL programming for link to brand strategy as well as commercial effectiveness

  • Demonstrates effective skills at assessment of below-the-line strategies, programs and effectiveness.
