Description

We have an opportunity at Carondelet for an Operations Manager. The position is responsible for Manufacturing Oversight by ensuring safety, quality and compliance requirements, and on-time delivery timelines are met, adhering to production scheduling, conducting production meetings and staff meetings, overseeing MTC, ensuring work instructions are followed, managing inventory, ensuring environmental compliance requirements are met, and managing outsourcing needs to meet production demand. Talent Management by coaching and mentoring team, participate in hiring process, provide workforce training and follow-up for compliance, conduct regular one on ones, conduct performance reviews (direct and indirect), ensure and monitor team development plans, be accessible to the team members. Manufacturing Management by owning and promoting safety (training, incident reviews), driving continuous improvement processes (lean, feedback to engineering, kaizen), managing costs to the established budget, participating in customer interactions and visits, as well as, collaborating in, and executing peer projects. Strategy and Planning by participating in steering team meetings, division review meetings, capital projects planning, assist in strategic planning (gap analysis), executing strategic plan, developing, and cascading company goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Puts safety first every day, takes responsibility to make and keep commitments, is personally invested to deliver MORE to all customers, and celebrates the success of the team. Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgy, materials sciences, engineering or related discipline is preferred. Minimum of 7 years of production experience in a leadership position with a strong understanding of foundry and metals manufacturing processes such as: sand molding, core making, induction melting, pouring, sand casting and cleaning operations; high alloy ferrous base background strongly desired.

Ideally, have 7-10 years of related experience in an ISO / AS9100 certified facility. Must have very strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to direct and motivate, while maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style at all levels of the organization. Excellent skills in facilitation and interpersonal relationship skills and must be able to explain and teach concepts at all levels of the organization with a demonstrated ability to teach and communicate in simple, impacting terms. Demonstrated ability to thrive on challenges and provide leadership and direction to solve problems, to understand situations and quickly but thoughtfully change systems/organizations to improve results or efficiency.

Have expert level skills in Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, and Project. Possess a strong working knowledge of CAD/CAM and AutoCad and/or Solid Works. The ideal candidate will have a dynamic, results-oriented, metrics-driven, decisive, and disciplined leadership style that will enable the creation of a culture of accountability. Strong knowledge and experience leading improvement initiatives, six sigma problem solving techniques, root cause analysis and related is preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification is desired.
