* Assists in the development of strategic goals and objectives for opioid stewardship and supports the development of compliance strategy for pharmacy and provides ongoing monitoring.

* Works collaboratively with physicians and other members of the healthcare team to develop programs/guidelines/order sets and/or evidence-based pain medication regimens.

* Collaborates with site opioid stewardship pharmacists to help with opioid-specific quality improvement initiatives and activities that promote positive patient outcomes (inpatient, outpatient, and community). These activities may include but are not limited to: Medication Use Evaluation (MUE), Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) reporting, resolving drug therapy questions, therapeutic drug monitoring and identifying drug interactions and allergies.

* Reviews controlled substance formulary for the system on a regular basis and makes clinical recommendations on formulary management.

* Serves as a clinical resource to hospital, community and system leaders to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies related to control substance prescribing and dispensing.

* Helps to create and implement training programs related to compliance initiatives for opioid stewardship, accreditation standards, regulatory standards, and other best-practice systems.

* Serves as a subject matter expert and supports ongoing review and development of opioid stewardship program workflows and procedures.

* Assists in the development and management of pharmacy quality metrics for opioid stewardship.

* Monitors opioid dispensing patterns and analyzes data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement in collaboration with providers.

* Provides critical oversight and monitoring of drug diversion tools and processes, ensuring adequate safeguards to prevent drug diversion.

* Assists site drug diversion committees and system leads with investigations relating to suspected and confirmed drug diversions.

* Maintains a proactive approach to evaluate new strategies and processes with regards to opioid stewardship and prevention of drug diversion.

* Builds relationships with hospital, ambulatory and system pharmacy teams and other business partners to support a culture of compliance.

* Assists in data collection and process review to gather information used to collaborate with legal counsel and pharmacy leadership to draft and update policies and standard operating procedures.

* Establish relationships with local, state, and national organizations working on opioid-related issues.

* Provides leadership on committees including but not limited to Pharmacy &Therapeutics Committee, Baptist Opioid Stewardship Committee, Pharmacy Medication Safety Committee and Drug Diversion Committee.

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.

* Kentucky Board of Pharmacy license required.

* Certification in Opioid Stewardship training preferred.

* 3 years of work-related experience OR completion of PGY-1 program.

* Experience in pharmacy compliance or risk management or related field work preferred.

* Strong knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations preferred.

* Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills preferred.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint and other pharmacy related applications preferred.
