Under the direction of the Senior Director/Director and in conjunction with the Medical Director, the Manager is responsible for strategic plan execution, daily planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating daily activities. Assures the efficient day-to-day operational function of assigned areas to ensure that quality care, efficient workflow, and high patient satisfaction are provided. Plans, organizes, directs, and monitors daily performance. The Manager ensures that caregivers adhere to system policies and procedures including regulatory agencies. The Manager participates in the development of and manages the budget to target, oversees day-to-day operations of the resources (human and material), space and equipment, patient registration, scheduling, office operations, charge capture, physician and employee relations, and the general business functions of the areas.
I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Ensure that caregivers adhere to system policies and procedures for clinical care standards.
2. Coordinates clinical practice and deployment of resources at the unit level to ensure ongoing implementation of processes and adherence to standards.
3. Develops Scope of Service and Plan of Care for the identified area. Submits to senior leadership for approval.
4. Assists caregivers with the development of a cohesive, service-oriented team, and serves as a role model, mentor, coach/facilitator.
5. Monitors competence of caregivers and ensures education to complete required competencies. Monitors continuing education participation.
6. Conducts daily patient care rounds, assessing patient care requirements and monitoring nursing and ancillary caregiver performance to achieve safe, cost effective and quality patient care.
7. Directs the oversight of clinical practice through continuity of patient care assignments to optimize the patient plan of care.
8. Ensures a plan of care is established, coordinated, and delivered to each patient and family.
9. Creates and sustains a collaborative, patient-focused environment supporting excellence in clinical and service practices.
10. Delegates appropriate responsibilities to others.
11. Ensures a positive work environment that is safe for patients, visitors, and staff.
12. Ensures unit-based standards of care are in accordance with departmental, organizational and/or compliance related standards.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Bachelor's degree in relevant clinical field.
2. Active clinical license in clinical field.
Preferred:
1. Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
Experience/Skill:
Required:
1. A minimum of three years of directly related work experience in field of specialty in a hospital or healthcare environment.
2. Has demonstrated leadership potential.
3. Must have proven project management, team building, and presentation skills.
4. Exceptional analytical skills are necessary to perform various data analysis techniques, review statistical data for the purpose of departmental planning and control, in the preparation and maintenance of budgets and in problem solving. 5. Must possess the interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written) to provide effective participative leadership and to interact with patients, families, physicians, and other visitors and staff.
6. Strong problem-solving skills.
7. Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
