Overview
Expected pay for this position is $43.15 - $50.77/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager of Preconstruction provides comprehensive preconstruction services on a wide range of construction projects including estimating, scheduling, value engineering, risk management, bid solicitation, subcontractor outreach, and bid analysis. The Manager of Preconstruction collaborates with owners, architects, engineers, preconstruction team members, and the operations team. This role leads the entire preconstruction phase from the initial concept through design and bidding to the final hand-off with the operations team. The Manager of Preconstruction provides scope, schedule, and cost control during the preconstruction process and gives feedback to the design team through constructability reviews. Additionally, the Manager of Preconstruction will contribute to client services and business development, helping to ensure future work for our company with new and existing clients.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or architecture-related field.
Experience:
* 10 years of commercial preconstruction experience.
Licensure/ Certification:
* Active state driver's license
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
* Flexible and creative in finding new ways to improve the organization's effectiveness and in finding ways to solve construction and owner's problems.
* Effective leadership and management skills.
* Experience with Design/Bid/Build, CMAR and/or Design/Build construction delivery methods.
* Experience with reading and interpreting contract documents, drawings, and specifications.
* Experience with quantity takeoff software (OST, Destini, etc.).
* Experience with document control software (Bluebeam).
* Experience with bid solicitation software programs (Building Connected, iSqFt, etc.).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience:
* 15 years of commercial preconstruction experience.
* 5 years of supervisory experience.
Licensure/ Certification:
* Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC)
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
* Mastery of construction delivery methods, and the nuances among those methods including Design/Bid/Build, CMA, CMAR, and Design/Build.
* Experience in healthcare construction market.
* Experience with design software (Revit, Sketch Up, Autocad, etc.) for preconstruction.
* Healthcare Infection Control & Interim Life Safety Training preferred.
