Job Responsibilities:

The Manager for Product Development will manage product offerings including books, e-books, print brochures, apps, and short educational videos for professional resources and patient education materials. This position has a direct impact on the profitability of the Business Products Portfolio. This position integrates key management skills such as project management, editorial oversight and review, product development, competitive market research and strategy, financial analysis, and relationship management. Projects will include new ideas, concepts, and products as well as revisions of existing materials as needed. Will work with e-books, association management software for e-commerce product set up, print production, and reprint needs.

Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 5 years' professional work experience in product development and implementation, developing print and/or digital based products and contributing to marketing materials and promotional copy
  • Excellent understanding and execution of book and e-book publishing and development
  • Excellent writing and editing, project management, relationship management, information analysis, creative thinking, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated success in setting goals and priorities as well as meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability for occasional evening and weekend work
  • Ability for travel to attend meetings or conferences

  • Publishing experience
  • Knowledge of dentistry, the dental market, or health care environments
  • Market research experience
  • Copy editing experience
  • Graphic design or art direction skills
  • Experience working with an association or similar group of constituents
  • Experience developing business plans and working with e-commerce
