Description

Comprehensive management of regulatory departments with specific responsibilities for drawback, import, export or any combination thereof.

* Responsible for staffing activities, including candidate selection, coaching, counseling, sponsoring & implementing individual development plans. Responsible for budget management including expense control and revenue generation for assigned cost/revenue center. Directs activities of regulatory departments. Includes determining best use of resources (personnel, facilities, equipment, cash) based on business requirements, purple promise and p-s-p management philosophy. May have employees in locations other than own. Protects company cash through management of resolution of discrepancies as they pertain to monies paid to customs, invoice dispute resolution, recovery of overpayments of duties. Must operate within service quality indicators, regulatory requirements or both for these activities. Facilitates process improvement and documentation of same in compliance with established corporate guidelines and government agencies regulations. Provides service to internal and external clients for more complex and sensitive regulatory and customer service requirements. Provides recommendations and guidance regarding complex technical application to daily operations and support groups in the areas of import, export, drawback and transportation. Models the way through professionalism, accountability, ownership and execution as appropriate for internal and external customer guidance. Responsible for handling and resolution of more complex or serious issues as they pertain to entry, liquidated damages, penalties, formal protests, licensing, export examinations and large scale customer requirements. Participates in customer and prospect meetings for purposes of business expansion, business retention and relationship development. Participates in government and industry organizations and committees at a local and/or regional level for further development of new processes. Develops and maintains relationships with government agencies in ports of department coverage, demonstrating the commitment of the company to the highest degree of compliance.

* Bachelor's degree/equivalent experience preferably in business field. Five (5) years operational experience with imports or with a broker. Working knowledge of harmonized tariff system, customs regulations and other government resources and publications. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including presentations and public speaking. Demonstrated leadership or management experience. High proficiency with Microsoft Office desktop applications. Custom broker's license strongly preferred. Certified export specialist credential as issued by ncbfaa strongly preferred. Working knowledge of cbp/abi, drawback entry or forwarding activities desired.

Remote: This position is variable remote with some work from opportunity and some work in office based on company policy.

Strongly Preferred Qualifications: Customs Broker License; Strong background in Customs Brokerage in Regulatory or Operations.

US Pay Range: $6,102.92 - $13,895.90 monthly

California Pay Range: $7,323.50 - $13,895.90 monthly

Colorado Pay Range: $6,713.21 - $12,737.91 monthly

Hawaii Pay Range: $7,323.50 - $13,895.90 monthly

Illinois Pay Range: $7,323.50 - $13,895.90 monthly

New Jersey, NJ Pay Range: $7,323.50 - $13,895.90 monthly

Maryland Pay Range: $6,713.21 - $12,737.91 monthly

Buffalo, NY Pay Range: $6,102.92 - $11,579.92 monthly

New York, NY Pay Range: $7,323.50 - $13,895.90 monthly

Seattle Washington Pay Range: $7,323.50 - $13,895.90 monthly

Pay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. If this opportunity includes multiple job levels, the range is a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary for the lowest level to the current starting salary of the highest level. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job and other job-related factors permitted by law.
