About the RoleIn this role, you will support product moving across the globe, ensuring our processes are in conformance with laws and regulations related to the entry of merchandise across borders. Your team is accountable to Do The Right Thing - driving compliance and duty management while operating within the many global regulations that surround trading activities and the import and export of Gap Inc. products – to ensure compliance with international export, trade, and financial laws. Specifically, your organization is accountable for ensuring accurate product classification and product valuation, managing our customer brokerage providers, ensuring strong relationships with Customs Agencies and government offices in the countries we do business, managing Free-Trade Agreements to reduce duty on our products, and driving Tariff Engineering programs to ensure optimal placement and valuation of our merchandise.What You'll Do
  • Execute the Customs compliance plan for Gap Inc- develop and implement the procedures, controls and audits to properly govern Gap Inc's engagement with customs authorities

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal Supply Chain partners including Global Sourcing, Inbound and Outbound Transportation operations, Strategic Sourcing, Brand Operations, DC Operations and Parcel Management to ensure alignment on forecasting, industry developments, strategic planning and exceptional needs

  • Liaise and collaborate with external Auditors, Customs brokers, Tax & Treasury, Finance, Internal Audit, Legal, Production, Merchandise Payables and other stakeholders Work effectively with the Product Integrity team to support compliance with other regulatory agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission and the Consumer Product Safety Commission

  • Regularly influence leadership team decisions and initiatives

  • Responsible for planning, budget, and end results; sets policies for sub-function/function

Who You Are
  • Well versed in domestic and international Customs Regulations

  • Knowledge of CT PAT-Trade Compliance standards and procedures

  • Strong Problem-Solving, Planning, Conflict Resolution/Negotiation, Influencing and Analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and drive results through cross-functional teams at all levels

  • Develop innovative solutions for complex situations in a fast-changing environment; cover a wide range of activities requiring complex judgments
