Job DescriptionOur Training and Development Manager (Manufacturing) is responsible for assessing, evaluating, developing, and implementing training needs at a specific manufacturing location(s). Duties include but are not limited to: update, develop, sustain and improve training and development for the salary and hourly work force; coordinate departmental resources to implement short and long-term T&D strategies; coordinate internal and external T&D development resources to support strategies; identify barriers to advance our skill base and build strategies to overcome; maintain training systems (LMS) and content that meet regulatory requirements and enable development of a safe, competent, continuously improving workforce; oversee site training records collections, administration, and reporting to ensure timely and accurate information; track outcomes of training on performance; maintain working relationships with area colleges, technical schools and workforce agencies to provide input on workforce development programs utilizing available resources. The Training Manager will adhere to company policies and guidelines related to training and program operations; collaborate with leadership in delivery of training and coaching; ensure that staff serving as trainers are competent and knowledgeable about training topics and content within the modules; and ensure training resources are available to staff.This position will serve our Air Conditioning Division, located in Fort Smith, Arkansas.Responsibilities
  • Define the technical requirements, scope documentation, and project estimations for training solutions
  • Develop learning and development content, plans, and strategies for supported business unit/departments/employee populations.
  • Deliver instruction and training to appropriate populations
  • Communicate project status in a timely fashion to stakeholders at a variety of levels
  • Develop metrics to measure training program effectiveness
  • Identify and recommend process/customer service improvements
  • Employ learning analytics tools to discern trends that reveal the system's usage, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations to optimize the system's impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 7+ years of experience with learning and development within a business setting.
  • Experience supporting personnel and projects in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with instructional design, digital learning tools and managing a global Learning Management System.
  • Solutions-oriented, critical thinking, problem-solving
  • Strong collaborator who seeks and embraces diverse perspectives
  • Ability and desire to work both as a team member and independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong business acumen with attention to detail
  • Problem solver, who seeks to find and solve for the root cause of problems versus falling in love with a particular solution
