Kellstrom Aerospace, a leading multimillion-dollar organization specializing in aviation supply chain and services for the air transportation industry, is seeking an experienced professional for the role of Managing Director, Growth Strategy - Distribution OEM. This exciting opportunity is based in Davie, Florida.
SUMMARY
The Managing Director's Growth Strategy responsibilities include focused business development and project management of incremental Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) distribution relationships, supervising the Distribution Engineering Services function, and proactive strategy development for OEM Distribution outside sales and business development functions. This role is a management role requiring significant experience and the ability to take direction and interpret the vision of the EVP Distribution to formulate strategies, prepare complex analysis, project manage all phases of new OEM distribution relationship development, and customer-facing business development activities as well as interfacing with the outside sales and business development team to implement the strategy as part of a team. This role is based in the Kellstrom Aerospace corporate headquarters in Davie, Florida, and does require relocation for candidates not presently located in South Florida.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Project management of all aspects of the OEM-facing distribution business development process including:
- establishing initial contact with new prospective OEMs
- tracking all OEM business development business development activity and reporting progress to EVP – Distribution
- track competitor distribution relationships including contract expiration dates
- giving a corporate presentation to new prospective OEMs
- execution of a 2-way Non-Disclosure-Agreement (NDA)
- obtaining OEM point of sales data
- market research
- financial modeling of prospective distribution agreements
- responding to OEM Requests for Information (RFI) and/or Requests for Proposal (RFP)
- Support of Distribution Contract Negotiation Activities
- Initial Provisioning planning
- Expansion of new OEM Distribution Relationships into long-term partnerships
- Becoming the initial Subject Matter Expert (SME) on new product lines to facilitate sales team training on new products and details of new distribution relationships.
- Project management of all aspects of customer-facing distribution business development process with emphasis on driving the growth of new distribution lines in particular:
- Interface with all regional outside sales and business development contacts to provide market analysis, marketing materials, training, and presentation materials as needed.
- Support bid and proposal activities on OEM distribution materials in response to large formal requests for proposals (RFPs).
- Travel jointly with outside sales and business development contacts to support technical presentations about OEM distributed products and solutions.
- Work with the Marketing team and OEM Partners to support the creation of new OEM product line-focused sell sheets and other marketing materials as well as social media and advertising campaigns.
- Provide management oversight of the Distribution Engineering Services function in charge of new part development activities and our OEM Partners focused on bringing incremental aftermarket solutions to market to drive revenue growth.
- Extensive domestic and some international travel to prospective OEM sites, trade shows, and conferences is required and will be 50-60%.
- Inventory Management: Assure program/general inventory is supported; i.e. monitor distribution purchase commitments with new OEM partnerships
- Coordinate/monitor monthly sales reports to be forwarded to Principal Base within a pre-determined time frame; assist in quarterly reviews
- Work with internal Sales/OEMs to ensure product support, pricing issues, and technical questions are satisfied per customer requests.
- Monitor inventory reports to ensure sales and margin objectives are secured.
- Maintain knowledge of competition/marketplace trends
- Responsible for satisfying customer sales issues/problems that may develop.
