Job Description:

The Managing Director is responsible for growing the business of the District Office by developing new quality sales, conserving existing business, providing ongoing quality service to policyholders and creating an atmosphere of quality growth, development and job satisfaction for all employees assigned to the District Office. This includes recruiting, selecting, training, retaining and developing all District Office employees. The incumbent must also display a professional presence and positive attitude at all times.

  • The incumbent reports directly to the Regional Vice President and is responsible for managing all field employees assigned to the District Office. The incumbent works closely with Home Office employees to ensure that the daily activities of the District Office are adequately supported.
  • The Managing Director is responsible for directing all aspects of sales and sales operations for the career representatives in his/her district office to achieve the stated goals and objectives for his/her office and support the growth and profitability of the Business Unit. Develops and attains District Office annual business objectives.
  • Ensures that Representatives in his/her office have effective communication and the necessary overall Business Unit support in terms of product support, production support, training, etc.
  • The incumbent develops and implements sales plans in support of the corporate vision and strategic objectives for Representatives in his/her district office. Directs the implementation and execution of appropriate sales practices.
  • Builds, develops and manages sales team in his/her district office to meet/exceed sales production goals and carry out needed sales and service initiatives. Accountable for sales status reports and managing the budget process and expenses within budget for his/her office.
  • Actively recruits and selects quality candidates to be Representatives, Associate Directors, Senior Producers and Producers to meet the growth standards set for his/her office by the Regional Vice President. Develops and grows the team in his/her office by developing high quality representatives with the assistance of the Associate Directors and Managing Representatives in his/her office. Ensures that the policies, processes, strategies and goals established by the Business Unit and Field Senior Staff are implemented in his/her office.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required. An undergraduate college degree in a business-related field (i.e., marketing, business administration, management, etc.) preferred.
  • Seven to 10 years of experience in an insurance sales environment required.
  • Prior successful management experience in a sales management environment required.
  • Life and health insurance license required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills required.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, problem resolution and decision making skills required.
