The Aon Reinsurance Solutions cyber team is a dynamic and growing team focused on working with our relationship managers and other team members to expand our footprint and presence in the market. The team is highly collaborative and blends our outstanding analytics capabilities with our track-record of making markets with innovative and highly efficient solutions for our clients.

The team currently comprises over 30 brokers, actuaries and cat modelers in the US, UK and EU. We also work closely with colleagues in our Contracts, Operations, Finance and Commercial Risk Solutions teams.

This position reports to the Executive Managing Director Reinsurance located in the New York office.

What the day will look like

As part of the Treaty team, you will play an integral role

This role will focus on working with the relationship leaders and other senior reinsurance colleagues in the US to drive the growth of our US reinsurance business:

  • In the origination and sales, marketing, and placement of treaty reinsurance, including coordinating with team members in the UK.
  • Co-ordinating with the analytics team around the scope and schedule of supporting analyses and results.
  • Working with our Contracts and Finance teams to ensure timely execution of contracts and remittance of funds including coordinating with team members in the UK regarding Lloyds slips.
  • Collaborative engagement with relationship managers and other Aon team members for delivery of client requests and other value-add services and projects, development of supporting materials for new business presentations, and operational projects to improve the performance and efficiency of the team.
Job responsibilities:
  • Works with the executive managing director and other senior colleagues to build new business opportunity, originate new deals and develop, lead, and maintain key client relationships.
  • Works with broking team to help identify specific client and prospect needs and take initiative to propose innovative and cost-effective solutions.
  • Demonstrates detailed understanding of all available Aon resources and solutions with ability to match those to the business requirements of our clients.
  • Achieves high client and internal customer happiness by providing extraordinary service.
  • Champions and promotes a team approach to both internal and external business relationships.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of reinsurance.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with capability to interact with major clients to cultivate and maintain strong relationships.
  • Excellent communicator (both verbally and in writing) with internal and external clients.
  • Entrepreneurial attitude with keen negotiation, business acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, able to multitask and lead projects.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter; committed to delivering the highest in client service, quality, and results.
  • Expert with top notch business development and client relationship management capabilities.
  • The ability to accept change in support of the business units and companys goals.
  • Solid understanding of MS Office suite of products with ability to learn and use multiple software and system-based applications.
  • Professional demeanor with positive attitude.
  • Ability to travel.
Required years of experience:

A minimum of 10 to 15 years treaty broking or underwriting experience. Cyber reinsurance experience highly desirable.

Required education and certifications critical for the role:
  • University Degree or equivalent experience
  • CPCU or ARE designation or progression towards is preferred but not required.

Pay Tranparency Laws

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $200,000-$250,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicants education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicants geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in Aons annual incentive plans in addition to base salary. The amount of any incentive varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
