Job Description:

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health is seeking a Managing Senior Analyst who can contribute immediately to current projects as well as contribute substantially to growing the company.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate the prioritization and execution of analysis and statistical methods to address questions posed by study Investigators, funding sources and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure the work produced by the analytic team is high quality, accurate, and timely.
  • Work with Investigators (internal and external) to identify analytic goals and priorities. Assign work distribution across the analytic team in a manner suitable to ensure project completion with appropriate expertise and workload.
  • Contribute significantly to the design of analytical approaches for specific research questions.
  • Provide input into study protocols, including sample size calculations and statistical analysis plans.
  • Work with Investigators to facilitate the range of statistical approaches available among all the team members for current projects.
  • Identify where cooperation, mentoring, and code-sharing opportunities exist; help facilitate that cooperation.
  • Maintain regular interaction with team members in order to identify and troubleshoot problems proactively; monitor the appropriateness of statistical approaches applied to research questions.
  • Work with individual analysts to help interpret the implementation of statistical requests from Investigators or other requesters.
  • Facilitate the resolution of methodological differences in requested analyses.
  • Participate in the work of the team by taking on and/or leading select analytical assignments, in a role that facilitates and fosters project and technical understanding and leadership.
  • Assist the team in completing necessary project tasks.
  • Work with the Director of Data Services to determine an appropriate role for programming help when necessary.
  • Cooperatively plan for availability of standard analytic files incorporating ongoing and future data collection.
  • Contribute to the writing and production of proposals for new projects.

Supervision Received General administrative supervision from the Program Director. Close collaboration is expected with Investigators and Project Managers for respective projects.

Supervision Exercised
  • Direct reports include Research Analysts and related positions. Responsible for overseeing Research Analyst workloads in close collaboration with Project Managers and the Project Management Office Manager.
  • Responsible for providing analytic direction and overseeing quality and accuracy of Research Analysts' work.
  • Responsible for recruiting, performance appraisals, and pay reviews of Research Analysts.
  • Identify professional development activities that will benefit individual staff members and the organization.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's degree or PhD in quantitative field (statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, economics, public health, public policy, etc.)
  • Demonstrated history of statistical programming experience with progression in responsibilities.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience with statistical software; SAS, R, or Python preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of statistical concepts and substantial knowledge in analytical approaches for health care (e.g., survival analysis).
  • Strong mentoring skills including supervisory or teaching experience.
  • Ability to lead analytic sub-projects with little to no oversight; demonstrated project leadership ability.
  • Contributions to field of health services research, biostatistics, or epidemiology demonstrated by a combination of peer-reviewed publications and written reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a wide variety of audiences, including sponsors and policy makers.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Federal contract experience with a professional services firm similar to Arbor Research.
  • Experience with health care administrative data analysis, including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid data in the CMS Virtual Research Data Center.

Annual Salary Range (US National Average) $85,900 – $139,800

Base Compensation Determination Base Compensation is determined by market range and geographic location pay zones. Base Compensation also includes various individual factors unique to each candidate such as job level, prior experience, skill set, certification and educational which may impact the compensation structure.
