Position Type: Full time Contract.Duration: 06-12 MonthsLocation: Goleta, CA 93117 (Onsite) As a Manual Machinist, you will:Experience setting up and operating a variety of manual machines and supporting equipment.Plan projects, select proper cutters for materials and set up hardware for processing.Fluent in the use of precision inspection equipment.Use of personal computers and Microsoft Windows based applications.A desire to be customer-centric and actively facilitate functional solutions with minimal overhead and in a short period of time.Self-motivated while working independently to prioritize projects to meet completion dates. Preferred Additional Skills:Background in owning part processing from setting up, machining, troubleshooting, and inspection.Experience in fast-paced, R&D environments.Familiar with conversational programming of CNC machines.Engineering drawing interpretation and inspection using GD&T per ASME Y14.5.Familiar with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and providing DFM feedback to customers.Experience machining a wide variety of aerospace alloys including nickel-based super-alloys.Additional machining and fabrication experience including welding, grinding, honing, waterjet, sheet metal forming and processing, etc.Tooling and fixture design.Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts.
