Crucial LinkManual Mill Operator1st & 2nd Shift Needed$16-24/hrThe Manual Mill Operator will observe milling and plaining machine operation and adjust controls to ensureconformance with specified tolerances. This position reports directly to the designated shift supervisor.Job Duties• Position and secure workpieces on machines, using holding devices, measuring instruments, hand toolsand hoists.• Remove workpieces from machines, and check to ensure that they conform to specifications, usingmeasuring instruments such as microscopes, gauges, calipers, and micrometers.• Verify alignment of workpieces on machines, using measuring instruments such as r ules, gauges, orcalipers.• Move cutters or material manually or by turning handwheels or engage automatic feeding mechanisms tomill workpieces to specifications.• Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.• Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvementsor take corrective action.• Controlling operations of equipment or systems.• Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly.• Monitor equipment operation to ensure that products are not flawed.• Verify conformance of machined work to specifications, using measuring instruments, such as calipers,micrometers, or fixed or telescoping gauges.• Study machining instructions, job orders, or blueprints to determine dimensional or finish specifications,sequences of operations, setups, or tooling requirements.• Change worn cutting tools, using wrenches.• Select and set cutting speeds, feed rates, depths of cuts, and cutting tools, according to machininginstructions or knowledge of metal properties.• Install tools in spindles.Requirements• Experience using hand tools• Ability to follow oral and written work orders• Active listening skills• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Desire to be proactive while creating a positive work environment• Ability to multi task effectively and prioritize as needed• Ability to adapt to changes adequately• Strong organizational skills• Attention to detail• Critical Thinking Skills• High school diploma or equivalentPhysical Requirements:o The ability to respond quickly to sounds.o The ability to see and respond to dangerous situation.o The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly.o The ability to stand continuously throughout the duration of the shift.o The ability to lift 70 lbso The ability to withstand working in varying temperatures.#talroo #zr
