The Manufacturing & Assembly Engineer is responsible for supporting operations on all furniture related issues and will work through production issues to ensure operations continuity. This individual will confirm fabrication, assembly, and installation processes to ensure system and product quality. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, while exhibiting excellent time management, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Support operations on all furniture related issues
Create and ensure documentation for current products is accurate and complete
Working through production issues to ensure operations continuity
Ensure system and product quality by confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes
Manage relationships with key material and component vendors
Participate in various cross-functional teams to support product development, operations, production engineering and customer service
Work with Quality department and vendors to provide inspection criteria
Follows Bennington's product development process to ensure all projects are thoroughly and timely completed
Work directly with industrial design to collect and understand the project design requirements
Modify designs based on cost, weight and manufacturing targets and capabilities
Prepare and revise manufacturing drawings using GD&T for manufacturability and repeatability
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Work closely with production supervisors to eliminate waste and drive production efficiencies
Develop assembly best practices
Work closely with quality department to ensure prints/tolerances/specifications are updated and documented
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or related field desired, or equivalent qualification or a combination of job-related education
Extensive experience in marine, automotive, or aircraft interior design and production is highly preferred
Highly skilled in vector mechanics
Experience with project management, development programs, and prototyping
Understanding of ergonomic requirements
Experience with soft and hard goods for seating applications
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent time management/organizational skills with attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills within team and cross-functionally
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
Strong ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals, results-oriented and self-driven
Effective negotiation, and problem-solving skills
