Job Description:Job SummaryThe UI/UX Architect is responsible for defining and driving the enterprise UI standards, design patterns, best practices, and governance to ensure consistency, scalability, predictability, and usability across digital products. This role focuses on strategic enablement through working closely with development teams, product owners, and business stakeholders to establish a cohesive UI/UX architecture aligned with modern frameworks and design principles.
Key Responsibilities- Enterprise UI/UX Strategy & Standards:
- Define the characteristics which all UI/UX frameworks must adhere to based on technology strategy and real-world business requirements.
- Define and maintain the enterprise-wide UI/UX framework, design systems, and component libraries to ensure consistency across all digital touchpoints.
- Establish governance models, usability guidelines, and accessibility best practices in line with industry standards (e.g., WCAG, Material Design, Human Interface Guidelines).
- Drive the adoption of modern UI frameworks and front-end architectures that align with the organization's technology stack.
- Establish and evolve design patterns and models that unify the user experience when multiple UI frameworks are involved in a solution. Introduce frameworks, libraries, utilities, and modules which assist in delivering the desired user experience.
- Development Collaboration & Enablement:
- Partner with development teams, technical architects, and product owners to integrate UI/UX best practices into software development lifecycles.
- Create documentation, design specifications, and reference implementations to guide engineering teams in UI development.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on UI/UX architecture, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and performant.
- Innovation & Proof of Concept Development:
- Research emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to continuously evolve UI/UX architecture.
- Develop proof-of-concept (PoC) solutions to evaluate new frameworks, UI paradigms, or interaction models before enterprise-wide adoption.
- Identify disruption to the current UI/UX patterns and frameworks and define a pathway toward adoption.
- UI Modernization & Key Initiatives:
- Lead UI modernization efforts, ensuring that legacy systems are transformed into intuitive, responsive, predictable, and accessible user experiences.
- Align UI/UX initiatives with the broader digital transformation strategy to enhance customer and employee experiences.
- Advocate for design thinking and user-centered design while keeping accessibility in mind during product development.
- Identify training needs and obstacles to adoption; actively working to remove the barriers.
Primary Results Accountable for Achieving- Establishment and adoption of enterprise UI/UX standards and guidelines across all teams with modernization activities in mind.
- Successful execution of UI modernization initiatives with improved usability, performance, and accessibility.
- Reduction in inconsistent, redundant, or fragmented UI components across products.
- Increased efficiency in front-end development through reusable design patterns and frameworks.
- Effective documentation, training, and enablement materials for UI/UX best practices.
Job RequirementsEducation & Certifications:- Bachelor's degree in computer science, HCI, Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications in UI/UX design, usability, or front-end frameworks (preferred).
Experience:- 7+ years of experience in UI/UX architecture, front-end development, or digital product design.
- Proven expertise in enterprise UI governance, design systems, and front-end frameworks.
- Experience driving UI modernization and digital transformation initiatives.
Required Skills:- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in modern UI frameworks (React, Angular, Vue.js) and front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript).
- Strong knowledge of design systems like PrimeNG and component-based architecture.
- Understanding of backend integration, APIs, and micro frontends.
- Proficiency in performance optimization, accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design.
- Functional Skills:
- Deep understanding of user-centered design, interaction models, and usability heuristics.
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable UI/UX architecture.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to balance technical feasibility and user experience.
- Excellent communication skills to align cross-functional teams and advocate for UI/UX best practices.
Relationship Building & Collaboration- Works closely with software engineers, product managers, business stakeholders, and technical architects to drive UI/UX initiatives.
- Promotes a culture of design excellence, usability, and front-end innovation.
Decision Making & Autonomy- High level of autonomy in defining and implementing UI/UX architectural strategies.
- Makes strategic decisions on UI frameworks, design systems, and front-end tooling.
Work Environment & Travel- Minimal travel (up to 10%) for conferences, training, and team collaboration.
