The Manufacturing Controller is responsible for the financial activities of Lipari Foods' manufacturing segment and serves as a member of the manufacturing leadership team. The position has financial oversight of three manufacturing facilities, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, while also driving performance and strategic alignment. This role focuses on driving cost control and cash flow optimization, managing financial reporting ( owning the P&L ) and supporting key business decisions across all sites.
This role reports dually to the Senior Vice President of Finance (direct line) and the Vice President of Manufacturing (dotted line).
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial operations of multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and compliance with company policies, accounting standards, internal controls and external regulations.
- Truly owning the P&L by knowing what is in the numbers, what will be in the numbers, and driving the operations toward its targets. Basics of this include: Develop and manage site budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies; Analyze and report weekly on key financial metrics, costs, and inventory using variance analysis and predictive analysis; Maintain, manage, and report on customer and product profitability.
- Partner with site leadership to provide insights and financial guidance for operational decision-making.
- Communicate and present financial metrics to senior leadership as requested.
- Lead cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities for process improvements to increase profitability.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversight for pricing activities.
- Manage capital expenditures and assess return on investment (ROI) for new projects.
- Support the implementation of financial systems and tools across the sites.
- Responsible for maintenance and accuracy of standard costing systems in each manufacturing operation.
- Conduct select reconciliation and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records.
- Maximize return on financial assets by establishing policies, controls, systems, and reporting procedures.
- Train and develop staff, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing finance role, with multi-site experience preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work closely and strategize with a Senior Management team
- Effective at prioritization, self-starter with the ability to work independently in a challenging fast-paced environment
