Job Description:

The Manufacturing Engineer will join a smaller team reporting into the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor. This person will work on process controls and process improvements, managing projects and working hands-on with innovative electronics.

Description

The Manufacturing Engineer's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversees small projects or multiple tasks within the department.
  • Designs and conducts research programs to evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems, applying principles such as mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials science.
  • Verifies system and product functionality by developing feasibility studies and testing protocols.
  • Creates mechanical and electromechanical products by analyzing customer needs, investigating manufacturing and assembly methods, and gathering operator insights.
  • Develops and refines manufacturing processes through the design and adjustment of equipment for component fabrication, assembly, and installation.
  • Provides training and ongoing support for manufacturing systems.
  • Assists with specialized electronic production processes, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT), wave soldering, circuit board assembly, and inspection requirements.
  • Supports specific mechanical production processes, including blanking, cutting, forming, hardware insertion, welding, coating, machining, turning, casting, molding, and inspection.
  • Specializes in the design, manufacturing, and fabrication of mechanical components for custom automation systems.

Profile

The successful Manufacturing Engineer will:

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineer or a related field with 2-4+ years of experience
  • Master of Science degree in a related field with 0-2+ years of experience
  • Experience with with new equipment, improving processes and providing technical support on the manufacturing floor
  • Work on process control and process improvements on expanding product lines in the electronics space
