ManufacturingEngineer The individual is responsible forsupporting assigned manufacturing processes and suppliers. Support the transition of new product fromdesign engineering to manufacturing including; mistake-proofing key process characteristics,verify machine/equipment capability and validates effectiveness of dies,tooling, and fixtures. Develop processimprovements, provides improvement suggestions to design engineers on jigs,fixtures, dies, and related tooling, troubleshoot machine/product relatedissues and implement lean manufacturing and/or six sigma principles. Conductroot cause analysis and drive long-term corrective actions.

Job Summary- Develop standardized work instructions, implement 5S, balance lines, create process flow and linkage, participate in Kaizen Events and remove non-value added activities from the manufacturing process.
- Develop standard operating procedures for both fabrication and assembly processes.
- Improve tooling/fixtures for fabrication and assembly to remove non-value added activity, to reduce set up times, to improve quality and to reduce scrap.
- Hands On participation on the shop floor for problem solving and developing both corrective actions and proper methodologies to solve problems.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Moderate knowledge in problem solving on the factory floor including CNC Machining and other fabrication processes
- One to three years experience in aerospace manufacturing environment preferred
- Knowledge of aerospace company specifications and practices
- Overtime and weekend work as needed to support manufacturing
- Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook
- Experience working multiple projects and implementing a continuous improvement process
- Must be able to effectively communicate.
Required Experience and Education- BS degree in Engineering; and/or related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Up to 3 years related experience in job function.
- Moderate knowledge in problem solving on the factory floor including CNC Machining and other fabrication processes.
- One to three years experience in aerospace manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mylars.

- Must be able to frequently move and/or lift from 1 - 50 pounds.
- Minimal travel required.
- Working conditions are: 50% office environment, 50% manufacturing environment.
- Noise level is moderate in office environment and moderate to loud on shop floor.
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold and extreme heat.
- Hearing protection must be worn in designated manufacturing areas.
- Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.
- Safety Footwear shall be in accordance with the following: ASTM standard F2413-05 with minimum impact resistance, compression resistance and metatarsal designation ratings of 75 foot pounds (i.e. ASTM F2413-05 I/75 C/75 Mt/75), which are viewable on the inside tag of footwear.
