As a Manufacturing Engineer II at BrassCraft Manufacturing Company, you will have a unique opportunity to enhance and manage manufacturing processes within our plant. You will also be responsible for designing processes for external resources. To thrive in this position, it is important to have a strong grasp of statistics and Lean Manufacturing principles, enabling effective collaboration with the quality team.Principal functional responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and validate manufacturing processes to support process flow and value stream mapping improvements for existing products and business development initiatives for new products.
- Lead verification and validation exercises to support the launch of commercial manufacturing (Safe Start).
- Facilitate the resolution of non-conformances using the NCR/CAPA system, promptly addressing any potential risks.
- Perform risk analyses including pFMEA, HazOp, and PHA.
- Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Whys and Ishikawa Analysis, and train others in these techniques.
- Establish standard work and standard equipment operating parameters, and meticulously document processes with Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Enhance manufacturing process flow and floor layout to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the product development team to design manufacturing tooling and fixtures.
- Develop and implement automation solutions, while providing support for existing automation such as Servo Drive controls and Programmable Logic Controls.
- Perform IQ, OQ, and PQ for new processes.
- Identify and address equipment issues to ensure smooth operation, implementing appropriate solutions.
- Develop and implement programs to decrease manufacturing expenses and minimize scrap rate.
- Analyze quality problems and proactively develop solutions and improvements.
- Collaborate with Quality Control to resolve supplier quality issues.
- Develop capital equipment proposals.
Minimum qualifications:
- BS in Engineering field with at least 4 years of practical experience in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent work experience (8+ years of experience).
- PLC experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC
- Experience with pFMEA, HazOp, and PHA or PHA with equivalent experience
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Kaizens (Continuous Improvement)
- Solid knowledge and adherence to company safety standards and relevant guidelines.
- Ability to lift 40lbs
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with Oracle database systems (JDE, Agile, etc)
- Familiarity with Dozuki
- Knowledge of the plumbing industry and/or consumer goods
