Position may include design of tools, shop floor manufacturing support, process development and introduction of new products.Location - Sumner, WAAnnual Salary: $70,000 - $90,000Responsibilities Development of tools, processes, machines and equipment to integrate the facilities and systems for producing quality product with the optimum expenditure of capitalEngage with shop floor to provide supportResponsible for applying and establishing statistical methods, which control the process and maximize productivityCreate, interpret, and communicate Work Instructions/BOMRequired QualificationsDetailed understanding of GD&TExperience in Work Instruction CreationProficient in verbal and written communication skills; able to prepare technical documents to be sent to customersComposite part fabrication experienceImplementation of continuous improvements by the use of Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen methodsReviewing drawings, models, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures and activitiesEstablishment of sequences of operations to fabricate and assemble composite products that promote efficient utilization of equipment and laborImplementing and improving new manufacturing processesExperience with composite process and specifications of thermoset and/or thermoplastic parts and structuresExperience in establishing qualification plans, in order to qualify processes and equipment to the customer specificationsCapable of designing or defining the requirements for the development of equipment, robotics, Lay-up molds, Vacuum Holding Fixtures, Shop Aids, Positioning fixtures, Go-No-Go inspection tools required for the manufacturing of new productsCapable of performing safety, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), Process Capability and Total Product Maintenance (TPM) for new and existing equipmentUnderstanding basic industrial engineering practices, such as, time studies, statistical analysis, ergonomic impacts, and value engineering principalsAbility to oversee as well as support other Engineering and Production team members across multiple projectsAbility to perform without daily supervision Preferred QualificationsPly shape flat pattern developmentTool Design experienceKnowledge of Boeing and Airbus process and specificationsFamiliar with composite autoclave or oven curing cycles, thermal profiles, recipes, thermal effects, thermal expansion, wrinkles and tooling spring back effectsEducationBachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or related field preferred.ExperienceDegreed applicants: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the composite aircraft industry in the related field is required. Non-degree applicants: 10+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified in this job description.
