The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company is a plus.What you'll do:* Work as a hands-on Engineer developing and troubleshooting product lines as related to design, material, or process.* Responsible for working directly with the contractor and end user to design build and gain PPAP customer acceptance by explaining and demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.* Provide technical mechanical input and understanding of maintenance and operations by enhancing total preventative maintenance programs on existing machinery.* Document concepts, designs, and processes and generate written protocols and reports.* Determine product specifications, evaluating products according to specifications and quality standards to improve or implement manufacturing processes* Conduct time and movement studies, review and analyze processes and methods and other work measurements activities* Interface with the manufacturing team to prototype and build custom solutions for customers* Drive New Product Development by managing and contributing to projects* Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; advising customer on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements; advising customer on needed actionsWhat you'll bring:* Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or closely related field of study* Three plus years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.* Aptitude in AutoCAD / SolidWorks* Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in product and service sales and knowledge of technology.* Excellent communication, presentation skills, and analytical skills* Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base* Organized and analytical, able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive approaches.* Demonstrate Atkore Core Values - Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Excellence.Within 3 months, you'll:* Complete your Atkore immersion program* Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy* Gain an understanding of your teamWithin 6 months, you'll:* Conduct time studies and recommend changes when needed.* Develop work instructions for operations and quality checks and design systems for various operations.Within 12 months, you'll:* Audit and improve plant floor maintenance programs.* Manage continuous improvement projects, and rectify issues to achieve cost savings, quality improvements, and improve efficiency.Atkore is a four-time Great Place to Work certified company and a two-time Top Workplaces USA award winner!
