Role: Senior Manufacturing Engineer Full Time Engineering East Tawas, MI, US Our team is expanding and looking to add a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate who is interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing engineering to meet company objectives for cost, delivery, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role requires availability to support all major downtime and customer shipment risks, along with the prevention of these risks. The Senior Engineer's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, full accountability for the performance of the plant's programs. This includes quality, production, and continuous improvement of the manufacturing process. Other responsibilities include:
- Ensures engineers maintain, update, and control master files per quality requirements, involvement in new product launches to ensure capacity is available, process layout is optimized and required internal and external dates and requirements are met.
- Quote cost and timing for engineering changes required by the customer ensuring capacity is available, change can support production requirements, and change is optimized to eliminate scrap and labor. Manage assigned program timing, documentation and costs.
- Communicate with sales and vendors.
- Visit customers as needed.
- Identify inefficiencies (scrap, rework, throughput, labor) within all programs to determine root cause, identify a solution and implement the solution following the PDCA methodology.
- Address customer concerns, develop an action plan, implement corrections and maintain open communication.
- APQP Process, involvement in quoting new business and ECRs, and tooling buyoff
- Responsible for other duties or special projects as assigned.
- Process Input/Output responsibilities as identified in each individual quality and/or environmental process outline.
- Providing support and assisting all team members with problem solving, root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
- Maintaining RASIC for roles and responsibilities for engineering team.
Job Requirements - 4 Year college Engineering degree or 10 years in automotive industries, managing responsibilities for engineering and manufacturing.
- Excellent verbal/written communication.
- Pro-active in leading an engineering group.
