Job Description:
MANUFACTURING ENGINEERSummaryUtilizes engineering methodology to support day to day operations, production planning and continuous improvementEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Manage allnew equipment kick-off meetings with pertinent departments
  • Monitor the progress of installations and startups to their timelines.
  • Develop timelines and prioritizes workload to meet schedule needs
  • Report project status and action items to management on scheduled basis
  • Oversee and coordinate the manufacturing of internal machine shop. (typical tool room machines)
  • Coordinate and lead project reviews
  • Coordinate build efforts and manage to program timeline.
  • Research and purchase required outside tooling when needed
  • Perform tooling studies and coordinate process improvements
  • Developing work/set up instructions for each manufacturing process and train personnel where applicable
  • Work with departments to develop all machine inspection check sheets per operation
  • Final review and sign-off of all inspection check sheets
  • Develop, review, and maintenance of plant layouts.
  • Develop, review, maintenance, and control of PMs.
  • Participate in cost savings projects
  • Implement new tooling/fixture/machine concepts to reduce product cost
  • Implement quick change over processes to reduce set-up times
  • Participate in corrective action meetings to investigate root causes and implement engineering changes where needed.
  • Assist engineering department with all data management, engineering changes, and all other related engineering documentation when needed.
  • Support corrective actions as required.
  • Assist with customer activities/support as requested

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Extensive working knowledge of manufacturing practices in a diverse range of processes.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and varying environment.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software preferred.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to apply problem solving tools and methodology to a variety of manufacturing and business process issues.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in an engineering or technical discipline or equivalent from four-year college or university and one to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Lean 6 Sigma methodologies, project management, rubber manufacturing, CNC programming/machining and machine building/automation is preferred, but not required.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
