POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for operating multi-axis CNC machines for part production and providing drafting and design support to the Program Management team. This role will be a balanced mix of 40% hands-on machining work and 60% drafting and design tasks on SolidWorks.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
CNC Machining (40%)
- Operate and set up CNC Swiss Lathe machines.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure that machined parts meet precise specifications.
- Maintain and manage machine-related systems, including coolant and safety equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure optimal machine performance.
Drafting and Design Support (60%)
- Create and revise technical drawings and 3D models using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with the Program Management team to ensure designs align with production capabilities and project requirements.
- Interpret blueprints, create detailed engineering drawings, and apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)principles.
- Prepare documentation and assist with design modifications for manufacturability and compliance.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical Experience: Minimum of 1 year operating 5-axis or multi-axis CNC machinery.
- Drafting Expertise: Proficiency in SolidWorks for creating 2D/3D models and detailed technical drawings.
- Machine Operation Skills: Familiarity with advanced CNC operations, barfeed systems, and high-pressure coolant systems.
- Knowledge of Safety Protocols: Understanding of safety procedures for working with machinery and coolant systems.
- Education: High school diploma required; 2 years of technical training or higher education is preferred.
