We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a leading Company located in the Rochester, NH surrounding area.Responsibilities:
- Develop a very thorough understanding of the manufacturing process
- Create and update procedures and work instructions while taking into consideration operator feedback, equipment, process data, and customer requirements
- Lead and support process improvement and cost reduction projects
- Oversee all new and existing reworks that are required to support fan case manufacturing
- Monitor and update the SPC database for current production parts
- Work with the data team to develop efficient and useful reporting tools
- Summarize, prepare, and deliver technical presentations to engineering and management
- Identify opportunities for process improvement while coordinating and implementing automated solutions
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of part manufacturing processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality standards
- Generate manufacturing data reports to support immediate feedback to the operators and generation of Quality documentation
- Monitor production to detect and prevent process drifts
- Analyze manufacturing data to assess capability and determine opportunities for process improvements
- Identify opportunities for automation and support the development of automated processes
- Work closely with the Quality department to efficiently communicate nonconforming production data
- Support the implementation of Lean principles: workstation design, parts flow
- Create visual management standards to communicate performance
- Interact with our French counterparts to report on process improvement or development activities
Basic Hiring Criteria:
- Bachelor's degree in Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant technical degree
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant engineering experience required
- Ability to travel within the US and internationally (not to exceed 10%)
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of composite and adhesive cure cycles is preferred
- Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes and tooling is preferred
- Majority of time will be spent on the production floor working with equipment, processes, and manufacturing personnel
- Self-starter with the ability to deal with ambiguity and work independently with limited direction
- Requires strict attention to detail and strong project management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with automation of manufacturing processes is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to quickly develop an understanding of the current master data environment (including systems, policies, processes, and procedures)
- Understanding of LEAN manufacturing concepts and/or 6 Sigma techniques preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of and compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards preferred
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds, approximately 10% of a standard workday
