Position Title: Manufacturing EngineerWork Location: Columbus GAPosition Type: FulltimeRole Description:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years' experience in engineering, manufacturing, technical, or related industrial fields; or a master s degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in similar roles.
- 5 or more years of experience in programming 2 - 5 axis machine tools using Unigraphics and Vericut CAD/CAM software systems.
Basic Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) languages, machining
- techniques, and machine tool capabilities for effective program design.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles, including experience with Kaizen events or involvement in continuous improvement programs (ACE, 6S, etc.).
Required Skills:
- NC Program Development: Analyze part prints, manufacturing operation sheets, and NX part models to develop and modify Numerical Control (NC) programs for various 2, 3,4, and 5 axis machine tools.
- Utilize NX CAD/CAM graphical system and Turbo soft + airfoil programming software for program development.
- Technical Expertise: Provide machining and development teams with expertise on potential machining challenges and their impact on surface properties.
- Program Refinement: Independently develop and refine NC programs, showcasing proficiency and initiative in program optimization.
- Process Optimization: Determine optimal feeds, speeds, and tool selection for a range of milling applications.
- Collaboration & Optimization: Collaborate with machine operators and Manufacturing Engineers to optimize machining processes and enhance machine tool capabilities.
