We are currently seeking candidates for our Meriden, CT and Winsted, CT locations:
Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer
Responsibilities:
- Determine manufacturing methods, planning and sequences, fixturing, raw materials, create manufacturing inspection methods and define work to be performed outside by local vendors.
- Provide detailed quotes for precision-machined components.
- This role will be heavily involved working with manufacturing to have a hands-on approach in the manufacturing process of development projects.
- Provide process engineering support to production, assuring accurate and detailed manufacturing process instructions and feedback.
- Apply job standards to the Engineering master routings for work performed in the shop.
- Input routing data into the database; input is necessary to calculate times necessary to complete procedures and to explain in detail the procedures involved in each manufacturing operation.
- Proficient with GD&T, Technical drawings, NC programing experience on VTL, Lathe, Mill machines, using Mastercam, Inplot software, be able to set-up first pcs on machine and release to production.
- Use cad NX software to sketch blueprints, operation sheets, set-up sheets for internal and outside vendors, develop fixtures and processes.
- Ability to multi-task is essential
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from four- year college or university or 5 to 10-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Broad knowledge of machine tools and their capabilities for the purpose of properly routing precision components.
- Experience with programming CNC VTL & Milling machines, set-up and run first part on machine to release development to production level. Tool room work a PLUS.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing drawings, technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Experienced in using PPAP to evaluate incoming jobs works on plus.
