Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Process Improvement:
  • Conduct time and motion studies to identify inefficiencies.
  • Analyze production processes to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies, such as lean manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify areas for improvement.

  • Capacity Planning:
  • Forecast future production needs and capacity requirements.
  • Develop capacity plans to meet demand and optimize resource utilization.
  • Identify opportunities to increase production capacity without significant capital investment.

  • Layout and Design:
  • Design and optimize plant layouts to improve workflow and reduce waste.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments to ensure employee safety and comfort.
  • Design and implement new production lines or equipment installations.

  • Cost Reduction:
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through process optimization and waste reduction.
  • Analyze material usage and implement strategies to reduce waste and minimize costs.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable pricing and delivery terms.

  • Project Management:
  • Manage engineering projects, including project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to meet deadlines and budgets.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with process improvement tools, such as value stream mapping and root cause analysis.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% between the other locations within Wisconsin, with Stoughton being the HUB (Monroe, Platteville, & Seymour).
