Contoro Robotics is an Austin, TX based start-up centered around robot solutions with a desire to make a worldwide impact through advanced robot methodology, be it telemanipulation, haptic feedback, or state-of-the-art human interfaces. Contoro works to solve labor shortage problems in multiple industrial applications with AI-powered industrial robotic arm technology. We overcome the limitations of AI with a human-in-the-loop approach enabled by our human-robot interface. Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end process of robot manufacturing and assembly, ensuring that all production goals are met on time, within scope, and in line with quality standards.
- Drive production workflows and assembly techniques to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance output quality, presenting insights to senior management.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate the supply chain to ensure availability of parts and components.
- Support (or even lead) efforts to outsource sub-assembly manufacturing to drive scalability, quality and cost competitiveness.
- Participate in design reviews, providing expertise and constructive feedback.
- Address any assembly issues or technical malfunctions, providing support to the deployment team in maintenance of the robots.
- Establish and maintain quality assurance protocols for robotic systems, conducting regular checks to ensure compliance with internal and external quality standards.
- Implement and enforce safety regulations in all manufacturing processes, ensuring the team operates in a safe and compliant environment.
Qualification/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, supply chain management, or a related field.
- 3+ years' experience in the manufacturing of complex electromechanical systems
- Experience with hands on prototype fabrication, assembly techniques, and wiring.
- Understanding of factors affecting mechanical and electrical assembly, and the ability to recommend DFM/DFA changes to design engineers.
- Familiarity with supply chain management, including inventory control, logistics coordination, and vendor relations.
- Ability to read electronic and mechanical schematics, assembly, and fabrication drawings.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to report effectively and engage with cross-functional teams, including suppliers and logistics partners.
- A strong drive, sense of curiosity, and a willingness to always dig deeper.
A Plus:
- Theoretical understanding of electromechanical systems (motor, drivers, joints), electric components (connectors, wiring, E-Panel components) and pneumatic systems (pumps, hoses).
- Familiarity with the Linux command line and running operations through the terminal.
- Personal experience in manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC/manual machining, 3D printing, crimping, etc.).
- Production and quality management experience, including quality management standards (e.g. ISO 9001) and regulations in manufacturing and warehouse industries.
- Knowledge of industry-standard manufacturing software and tools (e.g. ERP/Inventory systems)
- Proficiency with SolidWorks to view/interpret assemblies, and design manufacturing fixtures.
