Its products are used primarily in industrial manufacturing and distribution environments, including aerospace, water treatment, heavy manufacturing, agriculture, mining, automotive, and logistics. Operating from three manufacturing facilities in the US, Acco provides ready to ship stock products or fully engineered custom devices. Products are sold through distributors, as well as to large direct customers. The Attalla operation specializes in the manufacturing of overhead cranes and patented track along with crane components.Job SummaryThe Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for creating technical documents, such as Work Instructions, to assist in the manufacturing processes at the site. This position will also be responsible for Time Studies, Process Improvements, and more aimed at improving the efficiency of the shop. This position will work with the shop floor and the Design Engineering team to verify/add accurate Routings and BOMs and loading them into JD Edwards.Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Produce and audit Process Work Instructions for the manufacturing shop floor.Inspect, Review, and Implement Manufacturing Process Improvements to increase the efficiency of the shop.Create accurate Routings and Bills of Material (BOMs) for all stock and engineered to order (ETO) items.Perform Time Studies to more accurately cost jobs and review for efficiencies of the different operations in the shop.Conducting root cause and corrective action for manufacturing defects.Design/Create/Update fixturing for manufacturing process to increase efficiency and quality of output.Work with the Design Engineering team to improve the design of parts to increase the efficiency of the manufacturing or assembly of components in the facility.Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to efficiently multitask.Communicate with all team members on site.Able to identify parts, locate parts and/or equipment to do other functions of the job.Punctuality and regular attendance are important to maintain manufacturing schedules.Make accurate counts and computer entries; fill out all necessary paperwork.Must be flexible and willing to help other departments out as necessary.Must be willing to work some overtime, as required.Required Experience Able to read/create part drawings. SolidWorks/AutoCAD experience a plus. 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience with Microsoft office is a must.
