Description:
As part of the Novares team, you will oversee the manufacturing automation process at multiple sites for the Business Unit (AMEC, American Engine Components). The BU has 6 manufacturing plants (4 in Wisconsin and 2 in Mexico).
Responsibilities Include:
- Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to determine the requirements of the machine and develop specifications for machine functions, user interface, and quality control for high reliability.
- Key contributor in development and implementation of a long-term wide-ranging Operations Improvement plan including the development of an automation strategy for multiple manufacturing plants.
- Builds and delivers the roadmap for the development and growth of new and existing automation processes.
- Work closely with manufacturing to monitor and improve efficiency and output.
- Proficient in designing electrical control systems using AutoCAD/Solid works electric, pneumatic diagrams, enclosure/panel layouts, power, logic, and safety circuits.
- Design and engineer various industrial process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware and software.
- Design automated assembly line equipment and programming.
- Design automated test fixtures and maintenance.
- Program PLC based systems across multiple platforms.
- Developing the machine code in PLC or DCS systems as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI), software so that equipment functions as specified.
- Develop new software and hardware designs to meet machine requirements.
- Advance programming experience with AB/Rockwell software using compact/control Logix platform PLCS using studio designer 5000/RSLOGIX 500, Beckhoff controls programming with TWINCAT 2 & 3 and familiar with SIEMENS C++/C#/python/visual studio/SQL database programming
- Designing industrial HMI/OIT Panels with panel view plus OI panels using factory talk view studio (SE and ME) windows CE, basic networking, experience with Wonderware, indusoft, and 3rd party HMI programs.
- Integrating many different types of hardware devices and I/O systems (sensors, actuators, pneumatics, servos/motion controls, robotics, lasers, printers, scanners, and many other types of devices).
- Machine vision systems.
- Assist with technical writing of scope of work, operating and user guides
- Research components and technology available from suppliers, determine ways to increase reliability of controls and reduce costs.
- Train and mentor peer group on automation concepts and skills.
CANDIDATE BACKGROUND:
- Bachelor's in Automation or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent discipline
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional areas
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Strong knowledge of product/process flow and design for high-volume manufacturing including robotic automation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
