Join us and you'll develop your skills and expertise to the very highest levels, working in an international environment for a company known the world over for its brilliance.Position Summary:The Lean Manufacturing Engineer will work with the entire operations team to plan and support the logistics, material handling and production areas. Utilizing lean manufacturing principles, this position is responsible for developing and implementing material handling and manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.Key Accountabilities:
  • Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective logistics, material handling and manufacturing processes and methods, in accordance with product specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Work with organizational groups to develop and improve existing policies, procedures and controls through planning and implementation. Takes input from team members to provide accurate and appropriate feedback.
  • Design and/or source, test and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended material handling and manufacturing methods.
  • Manage projects or partial projects to improve the entire logistics and production value-streams. Evaluate data and write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Develop and present recommendations to management for manpower, schedules, capacity, performance, and other key performance indicators.
  • Write and implement work instructions, processes and procedures and train staff as needed.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to material handling and manufacturing operations.
  • Review processes and procedures in context of preserving and improving employee safety.
  • Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
  • Aid and assist in engineering change orders and production order changes.
  • Promotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
  • Performs special projects as required.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering and 3 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering; or 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with the design of manufacturing processes
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong organization, planning and follow-up skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and complex problem-solving skills
  • A continuous improvement mindset that is open to new approaches and embraces an agile working mode.
  • Good familiarity with drafting nomenclature and conventions
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with people.
  • Good ability to negotiate.
  • Proficient with PC, MS Office Suite, and MS Project
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Practical experience using manufacturing simulation and CAD software.
  • OSHA certification/training
  • Experience with SAP
  • Basic knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems
