Manufacturing EngineerFLSA Classification:Non-ExemptWage Range:$33.65 -$40.86 per hourSupervisory Responsibilities:LimitedTravel:0%Job DescriptionSummary/objective:The role will drive manufacturing improvement projects with a focus on mechatronic equipment development, processes, tooling, automation and Lean methods. This role will also be responsible for manufacturing instructions, and equipment to support customer requirements and production needs. The position will report to the Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor.The hours for this role are Monday through Thursday from 6:00am-4:30pm.This in an in-office position, without relocation. Select hire must be able to operate out of Spokane Valley WA. Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
  • Responsible for the design, development, modification and implementation of equipment and processes to aid in the overall manufacturing process.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, improve productivity, and reduce costs.
  • Responsible for the preparation of manufacturing methods and work instructions to document manufacturing requirements.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, equipment layout.
  • Develop Best Practices and incorporate these into methods and Work Instructions
  • Ensure proper use of and adherence to all safety regulations and equipment.
  • Interface with production planning & sales to ensure schedules and obligations are met.
  • May perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.
Supervisory Responsibilities:Limited: Engineering guidance to production teamsPreferred Education and Experience:
  • A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school in related field preferred, ie: Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or Process Engineering.
  • 10+ years Engineering experience in a Manufacturing setting in leu of Eng. degree.
  • Demonstrated mechanical, electrical, and general engineering problem solving skills.
  • Strong analytic and communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to effectively communicate with other functional departments.
  • Demonstrated computer skills (MS Excel, database development, process flow software, CAD (Onshape/Solidworks software).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent computer skills; ability to comprehend new hardware / software applications.
  • Ability to write a concise report of findings.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Requires the ability to interpret and communicate engineering plans and specifications.
  • Sound understanding of engineering theory, design verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, machining, and quality production methods.
Physical Demands:
  • Exerts up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Employee regularly sits while using upper body movements including arms, hands and fingers operating computer equipment and other office equipment.
  • Employee occasionally stands and/or walks to go into meetings or for discussions with other administrative / office personnel.
  • Employee occasionally reaches with hands and arms in moving tools equipment and/or products as needed.
Other Work Conditions and Requirements:
  • Employee works in a quiet to moderately noisy environment.
  • 10% travel may be required for several days on short notice

  • May perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.
